Christmas collection being repeated for vulnerable families
The generosity of Faculty members and staff will once again help to bring Christmas cheer to vulnerable families in Fife.
Last year’s collection in aid of the family support charity, Home-Start Glenrothes, made a huge difference for those who would otherwise have enjoyed little festive cheer.
“It was a fantastic response – some families told us it was their best Christmas ever – and we hope it will be just as good this year,” said Ampersand’s Maria Maguire, QC, who is organising the collection.
Donations of presents and treats, or cash, are being sought and will be stored by the Faculty before being transported across the Forth on 17 December for distribution by Home-Start Glenrothes.
“The children of these families will not be having much of a Christmas without donations of presents and treats. And there are a lot of vulnerable mothers and fathers who will not receive anything unless we can arrange something for them, too,” added Ms Maguire.
“Sadly, this year a charity that has been supporting them is no longer functioning, so our help is needed more than ever.”
