Ampersand Advocates welcome Euan Scott, Mark Boni and Nick McAndrew
Ampersand is delighted to welcome Euan Scott, Mark Boni and Nick McAndrew to the stable, following their call to the Bar today. In the second historical calling this year, they called at a ceremony in Parliament Hall in Parliament House, with social distancing measures being observed due to ongoing Government advice.
Euan Scott
Euan has significant experience across a wide range of civil litigation, with a particular focus on commercial dispute resolution (concentrating on commercial contract disputes, professional liability, property disputes, contentious construction and insurance). He has also dealt with insolvency cases and public inquiries. He has experience both pursuing and defending and has acted for individuals, professionals, private companies and insurers.
During his period of devilling, he developed further experience in his key areas and was also involved in a range of cases involving allegations of clinical negligence (including related regulatory proceedings) and a broad spectrum of public law disputes.
Mark Boni
Mark qualified as a solicitor in 2014. He has experience in a wide range of commercial, private and public law litigation and has acted for clients in a number of high profile judicial reviews. As a solicitor, latterly an associate with a well-known litigation firm, he appeared regularly in the Sheriff Courts conducting proofs and debates for both pursuers and defenders. In addition, Mark has conducted many procedural hearings, opposed motions and interim order hearings, including urgent interdict hearings.
Mark has experience of litigating in the Sheriff Courts, Sheriff Appeal Court, Lands Tribunal, Court of Session (Outer and Inner Houses) as well as the UK Supreme Court. Mark has also been involved in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
Since 2012, Mark has tutored “Public Law of the UK and Scotland” and “Public Law and Individual Rights” at the University of Edinburgh.
Nick McAndrew
Prior to calling, Nick McAndrew was a solicitor for five years in a large Scottish commercial law firm, where hespecialised in Construction Litigation. In that role, he has acted in disputes relating to contractual, delictual and statutory liability, and developed expertise resolving those disputes across a variety of forums, including the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, Adjudication, Arbitration and Mediation.
As he begins practice at the Bar, he intends to continue to focus on his specialism as well as to broaden his practice to include general commercial disputes, public law matters, planning and alternative dispute resolution.
