So you want to be… an Advocate?

CPD: Cost: Free Venue: MacKenzie Building, 172 High Street, Old Assembly Close (Building 6), Edinburgh, EH1 1QX

The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association (SYLA), in partnership with Ampersand Advocates, is hosting an event for those interested in becoming an Advocate.

Have you ever wondered what life is like as an Advocate? How do you make that jump from life as a solicitor or trainee?

Attendees will hear from Advocates at various stages of their career at the bar: Fiona Drysdale, advocate and deputy Clerk of Faculty, Katharine Muir advocate, Scott Clair advocate, Paul Reid advocate and First Standing Junior to the Scottish Government. They will talk about their journey to the Bar, their experiences and they will share their tips for those considering a career as an Advocate.

Chaired by Alan Moffat, Practice Manager, there will be an opportunity to ask the panel members questions at the end of the event.

This is a hybrid event with in-person attendance on a first come first service basis. Event starts at 5.30pm.
